Orders: July and August
Well hello there! Long time, no post, eh?
Like I said in my June orders blog post, I am combining my July and August orders into one post because:
1. Summer is always slow, and
2. I went on vacation in July, which contributed to a slow month
These past 2 months brought some fun orders (hello, Nautical Cookie Truffles!) and ANOTHER wedding! Keep reading to see what I've been up to and to see what I made for last month's wedding. SPOILER: the colors were gorgeous.
Nautical Baby Shower Treats
This order was a first for making Oreo Truffle pops! I wasn't sure if the truffles would be strong enough to make into pops, but they were! The order also included vanilla cake pops. All sweets were dipped in red, light blue, or dark blue with sprinkles, drizzle, or anchors as decoration. These fun pops went to a Nautical-themed baby shower outside of Cincinnati.
Kate Spade Graduation Kate Pops
July brought about my final graduation order of the graduation season. The red velvet, chocolate, and vanilla Kate Spade-inspired cake pops were dipped in white, black or gold and topped with either colored sugar or drizzle along with hot pink flowers.
Pink and Gold Cake Balls
I have to admit, I'm completely in love with the gold and pink color scheme that's popped up lately. These chocolate and vanilla cake balls were for a baby shower for a soon-to-be mom of a baby girl!
Cody Mayo Foundation's First Annual Golf Outing
In July, The Cody Mayo Foundation hosted their first annual Golf Outing.
This foundation is close to home for me as I graduated high school with the men who started the foundation.
If you're not familiar with who Cody Mayo was or the foundation, I highly encourage you to check out their website to learn more about the amazing kid Cody was and to see the good that the foundation is trying to do in his name: https://codymayofoundation.org/
I wanted to help in some way for the event, so I provided cake balls for the dinner that followed the event as well as a basket of cake pops for their raffle!
Anniversary Cake Pops
These chocolate cake pops went out to a friend who celebrated her 2nd wedding anniversary! The pops were dipped in navy with a white drizzle to match the colors from their wedding.
Minnie Mouse First Birthday Cake Balls
Here we go again with the pink and gold! These vanilla and strawberry cake balls were dipped in pink with either gold or black sprinkles and black melts to create Minnie Mouse themed cake balls. The adorable treats went out to a first birthday party in Dayton!
Bridal Shower Cake Balls and Cake Pops
Guests at a bridal shower in Cincinnati were treated to chocolate and vanilla cake pops AND strawberry and red velvet cake balls. The cake pops were dipped in chocolate or white with alternating drizzle and the cake balls were dipped in pink and white with alternating drizzle. If you can't choose between cake pops and cake balls, just get both!
Wedding Cake Balls
I really enjoyed making cake balls for this Cincinnati wedding at the beginning of August. The purples and grays were gorgeous and I still find myself staring at some of these pictures. The cake flavors were: strawberry, chocolate and vanilla.
When I was setting up the cake balls, I got the opportunity to meet Karen from Tiers of Sugar who made the cake for this wedding. I definitely recommend her if you're looking for a cake!
Cookie Truffles and Cake Balls
It's scientifically proven that Nutter Butter Cookie Truffles make birthdays (and any day) 150% better. Fact.
These cookie truffles were dipped in chocolate or white and topped with mini Nutter Butters. The cake balls were Pineapple Upside Down, strawberry, and chocolate. All the cake balls were dipped in white with either yellow drizzle or orange and blue drizzle.
Cake Balls for a Pregnancy Craving
Cake balls are officially a pregnancy craving. The chocolate and vanilla cake balls were ordered with the note, "I'm just pregnant and craving them,"
All my goals are now complete.
This order proves you don't need a party or event to order some yummy sweets!
Butterfinger Candy Bar Truffles
This is a new flavor! These truffles were made from Butterfinger candy bars and dipped in various shades of blue. These went out to a 30th birthday party in Cincinnati, which is why I topped them with "Dirty Thirty." This customer said her husband loved the truffles! I guess I should add this to the menu, right?
Bridal Shower Cake Balls
These sweet and simple strawberry cake balls made their way to Youngstown for a bridal shower. The cake balls were dipped in white with black drizzle and topped with a pink flower.
Bright Cake Balls
These lime green and bright blue cake balls went out to another office birthday last week. This particular Cincinnati-based office LOVES my cake balls and orders them for many occasions. These cake balls were chocolate and vanilla dipped in bright blue or bright green with alternating drizzle.
Whew, that was a long one! Comment below if you made it to the end!
Keep your eyes peeled for the next Behind the Bakery post coming up in a couple weeks! This one is the story of how The Little Pink Bakery came to be, complete with blurry pictures of how bad the cake balls used to look.
Also, if you haven't yet, check out the yummy banana bread recipe I shared a few weeks ago here. Let me know if you have a recipe you'd like me to try (or one you'd like me to turn into cake balls) and you may see it here soon!
