Behind The Bakery: I'm Running a Marathon (And What That Means For The Bakery)

After a long 6 months, I'm back with another Behind the Bakery post! 

The bakery itself has been growing like crazy over the last 6 months, which is why I've fallen behind on all these blog posts. 

But, I'm back with some announcements and bakery updates! 

Update #1

I'm training for my first marathon! 

I decided that working full time AND running the bakery wasn't enough work, so I signed up for the Columbus Marathon in October. Training is starting to take up the little free time I have left, but I'm really enjoying it! 

Since training is a little time-consuming, this means there are changes I have to make with the bakery. 

Update #2

I can no longer offer Saturday morning pick-ups due to training on Saturday mornings. I cannot give accurate times for when I'll be back from runs as they get longer each week, so all weekend orders must be picked up Friday evening. 

Don't worry, cake balls stay fresh for up to a week, so your order won't go bad between Friday and Sunday! 

I'm planning on bringing the Saturday morning pick-ups back November 1st, but I may only offer it during busy holiday seasons. This will be determined after I run the marathon. 

Most people don't know that the bakery is my 2nd job, so I've been working nights and weekends for 2.5 years now, so having Saturdays free to spend time outside the kitchen is a luxury that I haven't had in a long time. 

Update #3

This update isn't due to my training schedule, but due to the increase in orders. 

If you haven't noticed by the changes on my order forms, I am no longer offering delivery. I have 2 pick-up times and locations during the week for your convenience.

Let's Dough This returns on Sunday with a Gluten-Free Condensed Milk Pound Cake! I'm excited to have recipes to share with you again!
